The Council

The Council
The Council is the executive body of the University and, as such, may exercise all the powers conferred and perform all the duties imposed on the University by the Hong Kong Baptist University Ordinance. Its membership comprises 18 lay members and 18 internal members.

Council committees
The Council has the following committees/supervisory board:

  1. Audit Committee
  2. Campus Development and Facilities Management Committee
  3. Finance Committee
  4. Honorary Degrees Committee
  5. Honorary University Fellowship Committee
  6. Human Resources Committee
  7. Standing Committee
  8. Superannuation Fund Supervisory Board

Meetings of the Council
The Council normally meets four times in each academic year, in October, December, March and June. The General Administration Office serves as the Council Secretariat and assists the Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary, who is the Council Secretary, in servicing the Council, such as preparing for Council meetings, taking follow-up actions on Council resolutions/discussions, and involving Council members in major events of the University.
